Children and Family Portraits

I don’t get to do morning sessions very often but I love doing them and I am happy when my clients request them because the light is beautiful and everybody looks rested and refreshed. I had a great time photographing the Harley family last Sunday morning and the children seemed to enjoy walking on the trail while I photographed them. Below are some of my favorites.

A couple of months after her wedding, I photographed Karen at the beautiful San Juan Capistrano Mission. I had a great time capturing Karen’s beautiful smile and happy personality.

Karen and her mom. Karen wanted to have some pictures with her mom because she realized she didn’t have any photos taken on her wedding day of just the two of them.

Her aunt created a replica of Karen’s wedding bouquet; I think she did a wonderful job.

Yaima and Jean Pierre are a young couple getting ready to start their lives together while they attend UC Davis in Northern California. Yaima and Jean Pierre had a beautiful traditional ceremony at holy trinity Church followed by the reception at khourys restaurant in Seal Beach, a beautiful venue overlooking the marina; the view and weather could not have been better. Ed and I had a great time photographing your wedding and we wish you the best at UC Davis and your new life as husband and wife.

Yaima and Jean Pierre decided to see each other before the ceremony.

I fell in love with the island of Kauai the first time I visited twelve years ago and every time I go back I am amazed at the beauty, lushness and tranquility of this place. By the time I leave I feel transformed; very relaxed and happy. Last month, Ed and I went to Kauai to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary and we had a great time hiking, baskin in the sun, enjoying the deep blue skies, the fresh air, the shave ice and the slow pace of life. I miss it already and I can’t wait to go back.

After a bumpy four wheel drive on a muddy, rugged road, we got to this stream.

The Nu’alolo trail is a strenuous hike but definitely worth it; the views are spectacular.

I have photographed the Falcon children several times in the last few months. Every time I photograph them I am amazed to see how quickly they change and grow and I feel privileged to be able to capture their expressions and personalities at various developmental stages. I’ll start with the most recent session I did at the Japanese Garden in Long Beach.
